St. Bonaventure (1221-1274) served as a General of the Franciscan Order. He was such a great theologian that he is known as the “Seraphic Doctor” for his spiritual insights and writings. In his work entitled, “The Tree of Life,” St. Bonaventure meditates on the life of Christ through the image of the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden. Virtues such as piety and humility are presented as blossoms on this tree and lead the reader to a deeper meditation about the life of Christ.
We have chosen this book as a study for members and take turns presenting each blossom during our monthly meetings. We recommend that you read each chapter if possible before listening to the teaching in order to aid in the study. Press the word "Play" to listen to the teaching. Enjoy.
